I have been asked several times by my readers for a recommendation on the best domain registrar. So, I thought it better to write this NameCheap Domain Review instead. I know, most people will want to buy domains from more famous and established names such as GoDaddy, but I strongly believe NameCheap to be a better choice. There are several reasons for this, and I will go into each one at length.
Is Namecheap Affordable?
First, let’s discuss the price. All domains bought on NameCheap are reasonably priced. Not the cheapest, but quite affordable. You can buy a normal .com domain on NameCheap for as little as $10.69 per year – not bad at all. In fact, NameCheap offers affordable SSLs and web hosting as well, but we are not interested in that here, our focus is only on domains.
Second, here’s what I like about NameCheap best – they don’t make any upsells. I’ve had a very bad experience with GoDaddy. GoDaddy is a great domain registration service for the most part and very affordable too, but they make too many upsells.
You know what upsells mean – trying to bundle in extra products or services along with the product that you are interested in. So, even if you only want to buy a single TLD (top level domain) with GoDaddy, they try to bundle in 2 or 3 more TLDs, hosting, site builder, domain privacy and email hosting. Plus, by default, you are asked to pay for two years of domain registration.
That really upset me, which is why NameCheap came across as such a relief. Here’s the thing – what do you really want when you are starting a new website? You just want the domain name to be registered quickly and to assign it to a nameserver ASAP. That’s what you get with NameCheap.
Buying a Domain on NameCheap:
Is really very easy. Basically, you select the domain extension (TLD). Add it to the cart, buy a domain, pay for it with your credit card or PayPal, and that’s it – you got a brand new domain for your website. NameCheap adds a domain privacy service as well. That’s the only thing they bundle with your purchase, but it is free for the first 18 months, so you don’t have to pay anything extra for it. You can choose to pay for it much later, if you feel like it.
Third, one more thing I liked about NameCheap was its user friendly domain management interface. I really found it easy to navigate and it solves many problems such as mass updating multiple domains all at the same time. You may require this option when you move your websites and blogs from one web hosting provider to another. The dashboard design is simple and easy to use, you should feel comfortable with it even if you have no prior experience of creating or running websites.
NameCheap Customer Support:
Fourth, I liked the NameCheap customer support as well. I found them to be helpful, friendly and professional – which is an ideal combination. They were very knowledgeable about domains and domain management and resolved a particular technical issue I had. I also appreciated that they spoke in clear and crisp English and I had no trouble following their accent.
So, these are the four main reasons why I am a fan of NameCheap and recommend it very highly to my readers when they ask me for my pick for the best domain registrar. Are you new to internet entrepreneurship and are looking to buy a great domain to get started? Or, are you an experienced internet marketer who’s tried several domain registrars, only to be disappointed with most of them? Well, just buy your domain from NameCheap and you will thank me later.
I wish you all the best, and remember that if you have any questions or comments you can post them in the comments section at the bottom of any blog post. It’s great to hear from you.
