The Fiverr Review

The Fiverr Review

Fiverr is a micro-outsourcing that connects those who require a service with freelancers specializing in web design, logo design, photography, writing, proofreading and online marketing.  In fact, if you are a small business owner or an internet marketer, Fiverr is a great way to hire talented freelancers from around the world at low prices that start at $5. There are many who have built their businesses

What about freelancers? There are many freelance sites out there, but Fiverr is perhaps the easiest way for freelancers to earn a decent income, especially for those who are just starting out. Over 3 million Gigs or jobs have been posted on Fiverr already and every day, jobs worth millions of dollars get done. Let’s look at some of the most important features of Fiverr and find out why it is so popular, so that you can judge for yourself if it works for you or not.

What we like about Fiverr…

Simple Concept:

Fiverr has a very simple concept – freelancers post small jobs called Gigs, which they are willing to do for a minimum of $5. $5 may sound very small, but this is a great platform to get started with. The idea is to do several Gigs worth $5 a day, which would later add up to something quite significant. There are upgrades and extras available as well, where you can make additional money.

Great Interface:

The first thing you notice about Fiverr is the website design. It is simple, friendly, easy to navigate and inviting. Freelancers or sellers post job listings or Gigs and explain what they can do for you.  It’s easy to identify the best sellers who are offering the services that you want.  There is also a Fiverr app for Android and iOS which is easy to use as well.

No Membership Fee Needed:

Fiverr is free and you don’t need to pay anything to get started on Fiverr, either as a seller or as a buyer. As a buyer, you make your payments only after the seller has delivered according to your expectations. As a seller, you don’t have to pay even $1 to Fiverr for using its services. Fiverr is free and that’s the way we like it!

Reliable and Trustworthy:

Fiverr gets full marks for reliability and trust. You are guaranteed that you will get what you earn on Fiverr in your bank account, 14 days after the seller approves your work. Nobody has ever missed out on receiving what’s due to them from Fiverr. Payments from Fiverr arrive through PayPal with amazing precision. This really does inspire trust in the service.

What we don’t like about Fiverr…

The Price is Too Low:

Some freelancers do a LOT of work for just $5, which is a shame. Fiverr does allow them to set their own price for their services through custom orders, but it’s not easy to convince The Fiverr Reviewbuyers to pay more than just $5 for a service. But what the $5/Gig does is to protect the freelancers from bidding too low for a project while keeping it affordable for buyers of their services.

Customer Support Too Slow:

Do you need to get in touch with Fiverr’s customer support for some reason? Good luck! Fiverr’s customer support is notoriously slow and often appears disinterested in solving a problem. This is the only real negative about Fiverr we could find. But surely, the problem can be rectified quite easily if the management really wants to.

20% Commission:

Fiverr charges a commission of 20% or $1 per Gig, which is on the high side, certainly. But if you’re making a lot of money on Fiverr, this should not be an issue.

Buyers Have All The Power:

Even a single bad review by a buyer could wreck a freelancer’s Fiverr career because Fiverr is based on a rating system and bad reviews really hurt a seller’s ratings. That’s why, freelancers are often at the mercy of the buyers’ goodwill, which is not really a good thing.

The Fiverr Review

As you have seen here in the Fiverr review, there are good and bad sides to Fiverr, but clearly, the pros by far outweigh the cons. Fiverr has transformed the lives of countless freelancers around the world, helped them earn a decent income and we really believe that it is a force for the good.

I’ve heard of sites like this. My bff used to belong to one as a freelance writer. She quit because it was too easy to get under bid. She has a master’s degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing, she’s a professor and a professional writer. It wasn’t worth her time because she couldn’t post $10 or $20 when writers not as good were doing it for $5. So I can see this as an additional drawback to Fiverr.

I like the concept and I could see myself making use of the services. I could also see myself providing services if not for the low cost of $5.

In my opinion those who use Fiverr as a buyer, this is a magnificent platform to get quality services at reduced rates, such as logo design, search traffic, commercials, producers and composers, social markting, etc …

As for the sellers I agree with you, because $5 is not very significant, unless it’s a quick task to complete, so this way you can make good money at the end of each day.All depends on the service you can provide, and the time you spent in this task.

      I really appreciate your comment.

Hi, and thanks for a very good review on Fiverr.
I have not used them yet, but I know a lot of people who have. And they have been very pleased.
I like that you write from both sides, and I totally agree, $5 is a low amount of money.
Maybe we just have to be the ones who offer a little bit more for the services we get, when they are good?

Hi Linda, I´m glad that you liked my review about Fiverr marketplace.

I’ve resorted to their services twice, and I can say that I was very pleased with the work they did.
In fact $5 is really a low price for a work of this nature, but if you want, at the end of the work, you can always give a tip to the writer, or giger, who made your work. That´s fair.(There´s an option to give a tip if you want)

Thanks a lot for your comment Linda.
